Some drive-by trivia on "the twins":

- A quick look at their IMDB profiles reveals that the actresses were born 1992, making them almost 14!!! when the movie was shot (Oct-Dec 2005). They're made to look younger, though (just like Miranda), so I'll just continue to assume they are supposed to be younger (just like Miranda :P).

- a pretty shot of Andy & the twins. I *love* it.

- and again the twins, a bit older (17; Sept 2009)

I don't know why I didn't look them up earlier. It makes Mirandy family fics even more... real. :D

Has anyone noticed that when Miranda steps in the elvator and Andy stands outside it when she nods her head for Andy to enter she mutters "Get in" has anyone noticed that or is it just me?

indeed

Wondermark holiday cards are now available from TopatoCo! I’ve given them my popular “Shepherds” and “Jail” designs as well as two other brand-new cards that you should check out right now.

A nice thing about TopatoCo handling the cards is that you can mix & match a Wondermark order with cards from other artists all in one go! There’s a very diverse mix available, and I hope you discover some other designs to enjoy as well.

I also have some limited quantities of older card designs still in stock in my own store — but I should let you know that the holiday cards are going pretty fast and I probably won’t be reprinting them now that TopatoCo’s on the job.

Also important to note: TopatoCo has posted its holiday shipping deadlines for all merchandise that needs to be received by Christmas. Bottom line: order sooner rather than later, especially for international orders. Or, save on shipping and mosey over to TopatoCo HQ in Massachusetts this weekend for another housecleaning tag sale, and pick up wonderful T-shirt gifts for the whole family! It will be a good time to be had by some.

Finally: I am working on a limited-edition 2010 calendar, and was hoping to have it available for sale before Thanksgiving, but as they’re hand-made and thus dependent on the availability of supplies (some of which have been discontinued by the manufacturer), it’s going to take a little longer. Watch for those in December, and if you want holiday cards too, you shouldn’t wait to buy them both together. I’d hate for folks to not receive their cards until it’s too late to send them out! I also don’t know how many of the cards TopatoCo printed, so I’d really recommend getting those early. Hooray for things!

Remember, Montreal! I'm going to be at Expozine this weekend! You should come.

I realized today that the comic I was working on was going to take longer than I thought, so I made these up real quick before I take off for Montreal! You go to one of these things, and it's four days gone like a flash. Not that anyone checks the internet on the weekend, but still. In any case, I like the Kiss elves.

Store!

Title: Unraveling
Prompt: A story centered around kitnkabootle's Divine Decadence
Fandom: Miranda, The Devil Wears Prada: Divine Decadence
Requested by: [info]kitnkabootle
Rating: NC17
WARNING: This story is extremely graphic and contains disturbing imagery (mentions of self mutilation, violence, rough sex). Please be advised.
Word Count: 1873
Disclaimer: Not mine. Wish they were. Please don't sue.
Author's Note: When Kit requested that I write a fic based around one of her own, I have to admit that I was a bit nervous to tackle it. Divine Decadence is one of my favorite fan fictions of any fandom/genre, so trying to write a companion to that was incredibly daunting. If you haven't read her story, I highly suggest that you hop over to this link, read it, and follow the link at the bottom to tell her what you think. It's gritty and raw and I loved every word. What made me especially nervous was trying to get into Miranda's head. I hope I have understood her motives and done this incredible fic justice. Please enjoy and let me know what you think! (and….seriously…go read her fic. Now-style.)

Something or someone placed in order to subvert from within.

Of course I did. Hands up everyone who's surprised. OTOH, I was only quasi successful in sticking to my guns and not offering anything that would lead to hair-pulling. The final tally was two "it writes itself" fandoms; three "I'm sure I could" fandoms; two ordinary type "I really shouldn't" fandoms; and two completely, totally, absolutely "should not have done that!" fandoms. One of which was on the neediest list. Let's all guess which one I draw. Even more fun, I may be incommunicado in Mexico for the assignment delivery. I can't decide if that makes things better or worse.

The seven stages of packing are progressing well. Somewhere in between weeping and bargaining so we're on track for Saturday. If anyone knows how to use a Suunto Vyper2, pls email. Suunto doesn't seem to believe in quick start guides.

Ok I feel like I should know this so I feel really stupid for asking but:

I need to know names...

Miranda's first husband?
Miranda's housekeeper?
And does she have a housekeeper and a cook or does one woman do it all? Or like just a nanny? I guess who all works in Miranda's home? XD

Rating: PG

Feedback: Always appreciated.
Disclaimer: I may march over the hills and far away alongside Richard Sharpe, but Bernard Cornwell, the lucky, lucky man, owns the rogue, not me.
Summary: It was strange how distant places and people could come to mean home to a man.
Notes: Written for the [info]seans_50 October Film Challenge using Sharpe's Challenge as inspiration. Also written for the "Seringapatam" challenge prompt (#16) at [info]sharpe_thinking and for [info]alex_quine, as an extremely late Halloween treat I owe her for "knocking" on my virtual!door last year. D'oh!

(In a lot of ways, coming back to India to find Harper was like coming home...)
